What to Expect at Your First Appointment
When you come to Hear Well for your first appointment, you will immediately notice how welcoming our office is. We will send you some paperwork to fill out prior to your arrival. Once you arrive, you will be greeted and offered a beverage to help you relax. We will take your insurance information and go over your benefits. You won’t have to wait long until our hearing instrument specialist brings you back to start your appointment.
We will start with a conversation. We will go over your paperwork and talk about your current hearing ability, where you are having trouble hearing, and what your goals are for the appointment.
After our discussion we will perform a comprehensive hearing evaluation. This will include an ear exam and then we will test your ability to hear various sounds and tones at different frequencies. We will also test your ability to hear in quiet and noise.
After the hearing exam we go over your results and answer any of your questions. If you would be a good candidate for hearing aids, we carry demos in our office for you to see.
If you decide to move forward with hearing aids, we will fit them to your unique ear shape. We will invite you back in for a follow-up appointment in a couple weeks to make sure your devices are performing well for you.
